Three of my favourite black models are featured in the July issue of US Vogue. They are Chanel Iman, Jourdann Dunn and Arlenis Sosa. These three beautiful young ladies sat down with Vogue to talk about black models in fashion (click the article to enlarge). They posed for the editorial in designs from the Donna Karen Fall 2008

P.s I was planning on posting the covers and some photos from Vogue Italia featuring all black models but I am assuming that you have all seen them already (I have seen them on every site I've gone to). If you haven't just let me know and I will gladly put the images up for you.

Edit: Check here for the Vogue Italia post. Credit to Fashion Critic

Chanel Iman is so gorgeous! Those photos look really nice. I'm always happy to see articles and spreads with more diversity, it seems like you hardly ever see black or asian models, and it's upsetting because the whole world should be represented in the fashion industry.

I'm delighted that all of our favorite publications are addressing the elephant in the room (or on the catwalk, as the case may be!). Got my Vogue yesterday and devoured both the article and spread. Chanel is one of my faves! Trade links, btw?

Arlenis has a seemingly flawless face. It's interesting to me that they choose to keep her with such thick eyebrows, but in no way is it unbecoming.

Chanel is my favourite model, I think she is so beautiful.
I think British magazines are the worst at using black models, I rarely see any in UK magazines.

This is so great to see! I can't wait to see what a positive impact this has on the fashion industry -- perhaps the next big thing will be discovered? So exciting.
Oh and by the way, I know it's been like a month, but I've been really slack with blogging so as soon as I get back into it this week, I will take care of your tag (from like a month ago, lol)! :)

Absolutely stunning girls, I just don't get why Vogue (US and Italia) need to make *such* a big deal, I mean yeah obviously to highlight the issue but can't they just use black/asian models normally?

Woah she's so stunning. But as much as I love defined eyebrows, hers seems a little TOO catapillar for my liking!
